Year 5 overview 2023- 2024

Year 5 have been working with Go Velo to learn the importance of cycle maintenance and how to stay safe when on the roads.

In Art, Year 5 have been creating monoprints. The children have been studying the artist Kevork Mourad and have created cityscapes inspired by his work.

In Year 5 we enjoyed World Book Day 2024. We invited our adults from home to come and enjoy a book in class with us. It was lovely to see so many parents enjoying our 'Book Breakfast'.

As part of World Book Day, we all came dressed in our favourite pyjamas.

Year 5 enjoyed an visit from an artist on Thursday 22nd February 2024. During the visit, the children learnt all about the importance of shading and how simple shapes can be used to create complex pictures. The children had a fantastic time and learnt lots of new skills.

Year 5 have been busy creating stuffed toys in Design and Technology based on the novel The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

For Anti-Bullying week, Year 5 donned their sunglasses and caps, for their amazing gangster rap. They performed to their parents and the other children, making it clear that bullies are not welcome here at Bradley!

Year 5 have been working hard to create Winter book themed doors for our in school competition.

We are really proud of the doors we created. Miss Fisher and 5F were very excited to come joint first.

Keep checking back for pictures of our Christmas party and end of term festivities.

Year 5 enjoyed their Christmas Party on Monday 18th December 2023, the children had great fun participating in party games and danced the afternoon away.

During MADD Week 2023, we created calendars inspired by the artist Clarice Cliff who created pottery using spirals. We also created calendars in the style of Paul Kenton who creates Cityscapes using perspective. The children have enjoyed the Music and Arts they have undertaken.
