Across south East Asia kite festivals, or basants are held in spring. Our school decided to celebrate reading with a Book Basant!
There were competitions for the best class kite and the best family kite. Our extremely enthusiastic school made over 170 kites!
On the day of the Book Basant we arrived to find our school invaded by kites. We had kites shaped like fish, lighthouses, elephants, 3D kites and even one with lights.
Parents were invited to join in the fun and to share stories with their children. There was singing, dancing and even acting. Each class had a story to tell about their class novels.
We are very proud that our school is a reading school!
