Indoor Athletics

Once again, the children in KS2 have thoroughly enjoyed the Sports Partnership indoor athletics competitions at Pendle Vale College.  Years 5 and 6 were first to take part, where they particuarly excelled in sprinting and relay races - expecially the girls - and were runners-up.  Years 3 and 4 won their events and returned to do battle with the different family winners.  This time it was the boys who acquitted themselves very well in both competitions, coming from 5th position in the last leg of the relay to win it! Well done Isa! Most importantly, a great time was had by all.

On Monday 15th January, the Bradley Athletics team, for Years 3 and 4 took part in an inter-school athletics competition at Pendle Vale College. Twelve pupils were selected for this participation event, who were very keen to take part. We competed against three other schools across many different events in running, jumping and throwing.

Each child tried their hardest in each event and were excellent representatives for Bradley Primary School. The children earnt a standing ovation for their perseverance in the relay events, where, although not the strongest, they refused to give in.

Bradley Primary finished in 4th place and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed the event and the benefit of exercise was clear to each of them.

Bradley Athletics Team.

On Monday 27th November, the Bradley Athletics team took part in an inter-school athletics competition at Pendle Vale College. Twelve pupils from Years 5 and 6, both boys and girls, took on five other schools across many different events in running, jumping and throwing.

One of our athletes, Alizah Mehmood, described the event, “We took part in lots of events from sprinting to triple jump. My favourite event was the chest push because I enjoy throwing”.

The children all managed to finish inside the top three in each event. Madiyah Baber said, “the tournament at Pendle Vale was hard and tiring but that didn’t stop us, we all tried our best”. Each child was a credit to Bradley Primary School and we managed to finish in 2nd place, just 2 points behind 1st.
